John S. Weggeland, age 72, of Sunnyside, died Wednesday, October 25, 2017 at Memorial-Sloan Kettering of New York, NY. Mr. Weggeland was born July 15, 1945 in New York, NY. He retired as a Computer Technician from IBM. He was a Navy Veteran from the Vietnam Era. Beloved husband of Michele (nee DuBois). Loving father of David and Michael (Kimberley). Cherished Pop-Pop to Ben. Dear Brother of Susan Cowley (Richard) & Richard (Joanne). Brother-in-law to Denise DuBois. He was also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Sunday, October 29 from 2-5PM and 7-9PM at Edward D. Lynch Funeral Home, Inc, 43-07 Queens Boulevard, Sunnyside, NY. Funeral Mass will be held 10:30 am on Monday, October 30, 2017 at St. Raphael's RCC, 35-20 Greenpoint Avenue, Long Island City, NY. Private Cremation to follow.
