Obituary of Mary E. McGinn
Mary E. McGinn, age 94, of Woodside, died Saturday, March 4, 2017 at Queens Boulevard Extended Care Facility of Woodside, NY. Mrs. McGinn was born February 9, 1923 in New York, NY. For 20 years, she was an employee of the Bell Telephone Company and active in their Pioneer Club. In 1940, Mary graduated from Julia Richmond High School. She was also very active and a lifelong parishioner of St. Teresa Church and a longtime member of the St. Teresa Rosary Society. Adored wife of 68 years to Raymond T. McGinn (Ret. Det. NYPD). Loving mother of Kathleen McGuinness and her husband John (Jack), Timothy R. McGinn (Lt. NYPD) and his wife Judy (Deputy Chief NYPD) and the late Raymond T. McGinn (IBEW. Local #3) and dear mother-in-law to Jodi McGinn. Cherished grandmother to Daniel (Lt. FDNY) and his wife Vanessa, John (FDNY) and his wife Tricia, Kevin (DSNY) and the late Eamon (DSNY). Dear great-grandmother to Josephine McGinn and Anthony McGuinness. Mary enjoyed church activities, traveling, spending time with her family and entertaining at her cabin in Greenville, NY.
Visitation will be Tuesday, March 7 from 2-5PM and 7-9PM at Edward D. Lynch Funeral Home, Inc, 43-07 Queens Boulevard, Sunnyside, NY.
A Funeral Mass will be held 10:30 am on Wednesday, March 8, 2017 at St. Teresa RCC, 44th Street And 50th Avenue, Woodside, NY. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Woodside following the Mass.
