Obituary of Carlos A. Rodriguez

Carlos Alfonso Rodriguez, age 66, of Woodside, died Friday, May 27, 2016 at VA Medical Center of New York, NY. Carlos was born January 6, 1950 in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. Beloved father of Ana Rodriguez, Margarita Monegro, Carlos Rodriguez and Liliana Rodriguez. Cherished grandfather of Marcus Monegro and Henry Monegro. He was a proud veteran who served as a marine in the Vietnam War from 7/1969 to 7/1970. He graduated from York College with a BS in Psychology and worked as a social worker. He enjoyed reading, spending time with his loved ones, celebrating birthdays and other events, traveling on family vacations, following the stock market, staying up to date on politics, and playing poker almost every Friday. He always welcomed new and familiar faces at the poker table. Visitation will be Thursday, June 2, 2016 from 5-9PM at Edward D. Lynch Funeral Home, Inc, 43-07 Queens Boulevard, Sunnyside, NY. The funeral service will be held 9:00 am on Friday, June 3, 2016 at Edward D. Lynch Funeral Home, Inc, 43-07 Queens Boulevard, Sunnyside, NY. Burial will be in Calverton National Cemetery, Calverton on Friday, June 3 at 11:30 am.
