Obituary of Paul G. Ryan

Paul Ryan, a proud Irish immigrant, was born in Limerick, Ireland has died on December 28. Paul or Buddy as he is known to some, came to New York City at 18. After serving in the US Army domestically during the Vietnam War he returned to NYC and met his beloved wife, Mary Higgins, from Brooklyn, in Rockaway Beach. Together, they built a family with their children, Deirdre and Gerard. Paul worked tirelessly as a mover and chauffeur as a member of Teamsters Local 814. He was an advocate for workers' rights and union labor, as he believed in the importance of a fair and inclusive society. In his free time, Paul pursued his passion for music, at one point playing in a traditional Irish music band. Buddy loved classic Irish tunes and American legends like Johnny Cash and Waylon Jennings. The apple of his eye was his cherished granddaughter, Olivia, who brought immense joy and love into his life. Paul's heart also belonged to dogs and Brady will miss the abundant treats. Visitation will be Friday, January 3 from 4-8PM at Edward D. Lynch Funeral Home, Inc, 43-07 Queens Boulevard, Sunnyside, NY. Prayer Service will be held 6:00 pm on Friday, January 3, 2025 at Edward D. Lynch Funeral Home, Inc, 43-07 Queens Boulevard, Sunnyside, NY.
