Obituary of Keanu Francisco Paulino
With tremendous love and profound sorrow, we announce the passing of our beloved Keanu “Kiki" Francisco Paulino, age 5, on May 24th, 2024, after a courageous battle with cancer. Keanu was the cherished son of Frank and Kristine Paulino and the adored little brother of Ayrton Paulino.
Keanu was a bright light in the lives of everyone he met. His boundless love and infectious smile touched the hearts of all who knew him. His giggle lit up every room that he walked into, bringing laughter and levity to every member of his team. Known for his gentle spirit and kind nature, Keanu had an extraordinary ability to build a community of adoring friends and loved ones.
For so many, Keanu will be remembered rocking his trademark gold shoes. He wore them with pride and joy, a small but profound expression of his vibrant personality. Those golden shoes were a testament to his spirited nature and his ability to find wonder in the world around him. He wore them as he completed his spirited laps walking the hospital units while giving hugs and high fives to medical staff along the way, playing basketball, watching Bluey and having Pete the Cat read to him. Keanu spent countless happy hours playing with his train set, his vivid imagination bringing his little world of tracks and trains to life.
When Keanu was home with his family, he loved a routine which included going to school, the grocery store, and the hospital. Not only did Keanu love a routine, he infused joy into each step of his day. Through the dedicated advocacy of his family, Keanu’s routine filled up with enriching appointments and people who honored Keanu’s curiosity and thirst for growth.
Though his time with us was far too short, Keanu's impact will be felt forever. His memory will live on in the hearts of his family and friends, who will always remember the light he brought into their lives. With Keanu as our teacher, we will always remember to put kindness first and to believe in ourselves through even the most daunting challenges.
Rest in peace, sweet Keanu. You will be missed more than words can express.
Keep walking along and singing your song.
