We are deeply saddened by the loss of Jimmy, a remarkable coworker who became a cherished friend to many of us. His radiant smile and unforgettable voice brought light into every room, lifting the spirits of all who were fortunate enough to know him. Jimmy was truly one-of-a-kind, always staying true to himself and embodying fairness, even if it meant spirited debates. His presence will be profoundly missed, but the memories of his vibrant spirit and unwavering kindness will forever remain in our hearts. Thank you, Jimmy, for being an incredible friend and for all the moments we were privileged to share with you. Our thoughts and deepest sympathies are with his family during this difficult time. Rest in peace friend.
Love,
Roxy

Jimmy, I met you and my wife to be, Laurie Hoy, at the same time working at Walls Wharf in Bayville. We both last saw you at Jeannine's wake 2 weeks ago. You were the same Jimmy we all enjoyed at Walls almost 4 decades ago.
Your zest for life and laughter was contagious.
Jeannine brought us all together one last time when she left us far too soon.
You are entwined in the fabric of so many lives. You are and will be missed.
Rest in peace old friend.

I met Jimmy while working together at Walls Wharf in Bayville where he was living at the time. We very quickly became JeannineJimmyChrissyDottie and the memories of our foursome are some of the absolute best in my life. So much laughter and love. Mainly surrounding Jimmy of course! Jimmy with his cars that never worked right, Jimmy and the stories from the airport (hitting planes with the baggage cart, letting dogs out of carriers), Jimmy at the restaurant where all the customers wanted him as their waiter and all his fellow workers would ignore our own tables to help Jimmy when he needed it - which he always did. And the meals we shared at his home every week. He always hosted and we would bring the food when it was our turn and the love and memories will be with me forever. I lost contact with him for way too long and we finally spoke LAST WEEK after the death of our friend Jeannine and the thought of future talks with him was better than all the anticipation of a thousand Christmas’s. My condolences to all of you who are family and friends. I’ll love and miss him forever

James’ presence lit up the whole room. His energy was HUGE, with his voice, his laughter and his sense of humor. Although I didn’t know him on a personal level, I knew enough of him being my manager. I knew him my entire TSA life, (20 yrs), until he retired, which was a sad day, but much sadder now. He was fair and genuine. The last time we spoke, he said, “Hey Sandy, we must be out of our minds to still be here this long!” as we both laughed and he said, “It’s nice seeing you, hang in there kid”. He will be sooo missed. My deepest condolences goes to The Connor Family & his many Friends.

A character like no other but one you were glad to see. Working at LaGuardia with him was a trip to say the least. There was always a joke with Jimmy’s face on it somewhere and he laughted harder than any of us at it.
He was loved by all and treated everyone with respect and fairness.
Jimmy although we both retired about the same time you are missed by so many. Until we meet again on Fiddler’s Green.

Once you’ve met Jimmy, you’ll never forget him. I worked with him for five years in LaGuardia airport. I attended many events that he was present at and it was lots and lots of fun. Jimmy flew to Cleveland Ohio to be a guest at my wedding and boy did he make that fun, he started a Congo line that went through The entire hotel everyone got involved when he was around. I haven’t seen him in many many years, but I cherish my time in New York. Jimmy will be greatly missed. I have a wonderful video of him that I will cherish.

Jimmy was my best friend, back in the day we were inseparable. With Jimmy at 6’ something and me 5’ and 1/2” we were known as Mutt and Jeff. We had many crazy adventures together around Woodside and beyond. I think the funniest one might have been the time we were pulled over by the police when I was “teaching” Jimmy to drive and I was in the back of my Mustang drinking from a bottle of Boone’s Farm. The officer asked me if I thought I was setting a good example, I admitted I probably was not, he told me to do better and sent us on our way. Then there was the time we decided to go into the city and ride the Roosevelt Island tram, of course it was during a thunderstorm! I was terrified, Jimmy found it hysterical. Those were the days. We stayed out of trouble for the most part or just by pure luck didn’t get caught lol. Jimmy could always make me laugh even at the most inopportune times. He used to write me notes that would make me bust out laughing in the middle of class and slip them into my high school notebooks when I wasn’t looking. The nuns were not amused. We went to every concert possible, The Stones, (I can still see him doing Mick Jagger better than Mick Jagger!), The Who, Queen, Bad Company and of course Tull, to name a few. It seems we were always waiting on line at Ticketmaster at 6am for the next one. Time spent with Jimmy was always full of music, fun and laughter. I will miss you my friend. Later…
