I worked with Mary Alice at PS 377 in Brooklyn and am so terribly sorry to learn of her passing. I will always remember her beautiful blue eyes, kind words and gentle smile. We shared a common Irish heritage. She was wonderful about supporting me as a special education teacher, new to teaching a small class of lower grade students. She shared materials, stories, advice and jokes with me as we ate our lunches together nearly every day. Mary Alice was devoted to her family and cherished the time she was able to spend with them. I remember her joy in recounting weekend adventures with the children. I am sure that she will be greatly missed by all who knew her. I last saw her in downtown Brooklyn in 2018, and remember the final tearful hug goodbye. We spoke on the phone a few times after that, but time passed and we sadly, lost touch. I am so sorry to have missed the memorial, but I will make it a point to go visit her gravesite in the future. My deepest sympathy to the family.

Aunt Mary, my constant companion, shared countless beach trips with both me and my sister. Whether it was Coney Island, affectionately referred to as grandpa beach, or the serene shores of Long Beach, her love for the ocean became a cherished part of our lives. Always well-intentioned and caring, Aunt Mary was a presence in my home from childhood through adulthood, gracing nearly every holiday and celebration. Despite not having children of her own, she adored my sister Stacey and me. Entrusting Stacey with business matters and relying on me for the rest, we formed a great team dedicated to ensuring Aunt Mary's well-being. She extended her love to our own children, affectionately known as Gammy for Great Aunt Mary she was closest thing our kids had to grandmother on our side of the family. Her warmth and affection weren't limited to family alone, Aunt Mary embraced our husbands, and they reciprocated that love. Through the years, her presence has been a constant source of comfort and joy, and her memory will forever be etched in the hearts of those she touched.
