I was about 10 years old when I first met Eddie, he greeted me warmly at the airport. He had a surprise for me - a plush monkey with long arms dangling tightly under his arm and a big welcome smile, and this is just one of those memories that feel like home to me. My dad (Nae or "Nick" Pencu) has endless stories and happy memories of Eddie going back since high school in Bucharest (67+ years of friendship), and although my parents are in Romania now, they are grieving, remembering the friendship and the generosity and missing our dear special friend more than words can express. Our deepest condolences to the beautiful family he leaves behind!! We’ll always remember him fondly as a kind and caring man, who will always have a special place in our hearts, eternally grateful for having him in our lives. His laugh and smile are permanently etched in our hearts. Eddie, you will forever be loved dearly and missed deeply!! With much love, Pencu Family (Raluca, Mimi, Nae, Adela & Sorin)
