Obituary of Roberto Aguilar
ROBERTO CLEMENTE AGUILAR SILVA, 49 years old, of Queens, NY, passed away on April 14th, 2020, in Manhattan, NY. Due to COVID-19 in the beginning of the pandemic times.
Memorial Visitation and Celebration of his Life will be held on Sunday, September 5th from 3pm-7pm at Edward D. Lynch Funeral Home, Inc, 43-07 Queens Boulevard, Sunnyside, NY.
Roberto was born to Benigno Aguilar and Celia Silva on September 5th, 1971 in San Pedro Aytec, a small town in the state of Guerrero, México.
Roberto immigrated from México to the US on his own at the very young age of 18 and became a citizen shortly after.
From his beginnings in the US, he worked in the restaurant industry where he worked his way up to a manager position due to his hard work and dedication to providing excellent costumer service. Among his career, three restaurants are worth mentioning: Carmine's where he worked for more than 15 years and where he became a server for the first time. Gabriela's, the first restaurant where he started as a manager. And Peter Luger, his last place of work and the restaurant where he was most loved.
Whoever knew Roberto can attest to how kind and generous he was. He enjoyed spending time with friends and family. He loved showing the city to anyone visiting or just arriving to NYC. He enjoyed traveling, exploring, and getting to know different places and cultures. He visited México at least twice a year to be present with all the family back in Mexico. He was always eager to try different foods and restaurants. He loved music and out of curiosity, he learned to play different instruments, the guitar being one of his favorites. He was someone who did his best to make the most of life.
Roberto is survived by his only son, Daniel (Danny) Aguilar-Rodriguez; and his brothers and sisters, Salvador (Chava), Carlos, Argemiro (Gemi), Griselda, Sergio (René), Fabián (Benny), and Elizabeth. Roberto is preceded in death by his mother, Celia Silva and his brother, Matuzalen (Tito) Aguilar.
The family wishes to extend their gratitude to all of his friends and family who donated to the GoFundMe page opened shortly after his death. This generosity is greatly appreciated and will never be forgotten.
Thank you
Gracias
