Obituary of Richard Michael Femia

Richard "Richie" Michael Femia, age 78, of Sunnyside, died Friday, May 3, 2019 at Dry Harbor Nursing Home of Middle Village, NY. Richard was born May 20, 1940 in Flushing, NY. He is a veteran with the US Air Force and a retired foreman with NYCTA. Beloved husband of Cathy (nee Calamari). Loving father of Andrew and his wife Jeanette. Dear brother of Michael and his wife Maria, and the late Frank and Robert. Cherished nephew of Dorothy Carlo and her husband Conrad. Brother-in-Law of June Femia, Eleanor Britter and her husband Bill, Andrew Calamari, Thomas Calamari and his wife Pat, Christina Calamari, Gina Sarro and her husband Bob, and Eugene Calamari Jr.. Richard is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins. Funeral Mass will be held 10:00 am on Wednesday, May 8, 2019 at Queen of Angels RCC, 44th Street And Skillman Avenue, Sunnyside, NY. Burial will be in Calverton National Cemetery, Calverton on Wednesday following the Mass. Visitation will be Monday, May 6 from 7-9PM and Tuesday, May 7 from 2-5PM and 7-9PM at Edward D. Lynch Funeral Home, Inc, 43-07 Queens Boulevard, Sunnyside, NY. In Lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Richards's memory to Queen of Angels Church, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, or American Cancer Society.
